The first cameo in Silence Of The Lambs is legendary film director
/producer Rodger Corman. Corman briefly appears as the FBI director speaking on
the phone to Jack Crawford. "Silence" director Jonathan Demme got his break in
movies while working for Rodger Corman, so it should be no surprise that he would
find a role for his old mentor to play.
George Romero, director of "Night Of The Living Dead", "Martin", and other horror
classics, has a brief walk-on (literally!) when a group of cops come to drag Clarice
away from Hannibal's cage. He's the guy in the back holding the walkie-talkie. I've
placed a red arrow on the picture pointing him out.
And finally, singer Chris Isaak appears as a SWAT commander called to the scene
when Hannibal escapes from his cell in Tennessee. Isaak, who is also known for
his roles in "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" and "The Chris Isaak Show" on the
Showtime pay cable network, actually has a slightly larger part than a cameo in the film.
