The leaves have fallen from the trees, there's a chill
in the air, the nights are getting longer, and another Halloween season is upon
us. Once again, I've chosen a quartet of horror flicks--both old and new--to
help celebrate this most fun of holidays. The selected films runs the
gamut from the graphic supernatural
horror of Silent Hill, the graphic psychological terrors of Argento's Opera,
to the more family-friendly scares of Hocus Pocus, and--finally--the
schlock-filled fun of Equinox, which may not be as scary as the others,
but is still filled with the right kind of spooky-creepy spirit, as well as a
lot of heart. To one and all, Happy Halloween.
